Leave it toDaniel Boulud to find a way to elevate fine scotch whisky. The French chef recently partnered with the Dalmore to create a scotch that’s a blend of three Dalmore single malts. To celebrate the launch, Boulud is serving an exclusive whisky-inspired prix fixe menu at each of his six New York restaurants on April 23 (prices range from $75 to $260, depending on the restaurant). Guests will be the first to taste the Dalmore Selected by Daniel Boulud.
Menus will begin with cocktails made with the Dalmore and will feature three or four courses inspired by Scottish cuisine. The dishes are still being finalized, but guests should expect dishes like grilled salmon wrapped in whisky-soaked cedar; crispy chicken with potato and morels in a whisky-bacon sauce; and duck terrine with trumpet mushrooms and pistachio. Meals will conclude with a dessert infused with Boulud’s whisky—something like pecan, banana, and Dalmore whisky ice cream—and a glass of the newly launched blend.
The rich, amber spirit comprises a blend of scotch stocks aged in muscatel, Madeira, and port casks and has velvety notes of banana, fig, plum, mocha, and black maraschino cherry. After the dinners, the Dalmore Selected by Daniel Boulud will be available, only at Boulud’s restaurants, at $50 a glass.
