Perfect Summer Cocktails and Small Bites
As the Pierre’s Two E Bar/Lounge gets ready to unveil its summer menu, the bar is giving enterprising drinkers a backstage pass to see how head bartender Sachin Hasan puts together his cocktail creations.
The second installment of Change of Season, a mixology class and menu tasting, takes place on Tuesday, June 19. The theme: barrel-aged spirits. Hasan will create drinks using both aged and un-aged spirits, so you can do a taste test—and then it’s your turn with the shaker.
Expect to be pouring the likes of a rye infused with orange zest and dried cherries, Glayva (a liqueur made from a blend of aged Scotch whiskies, herbs, anise, cloves, almonds, heather honey, and citrus), and vanilla-infused rum with homemade rhubarb syrup. While mixing, Hasan will provide a bit of the history and inspiration behind the drinks, and tips like how long to shake the cocktail in order to produce the best foam, or how to layer ingredients and ice to ensure that the flavor of the drink stays intact even as ice cubes melt.
While you’re mixing, a waiter will come around with a tray of summer gazpachos, watermelon arugula salad, shrimp and avocado bites, and more.
The event is free—just stop by the bar anytime between 6:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. and grab a table. A member of the staff will be walking around, inviting patrons up to the bar to join in.
