Robb on the Town: A Fashionable Evening
On Wednesday, the Robb Report team convened at the Gramercy Park Hotel’s newly renovated terrace for a party celebrating the debut line of L.A.-born and New York–based clothing designer Katherine Feiner. The coveted rooftop garden space recently reopened and is one of the most breathtaking spots in town—perfect for the New York–made collection’s launch. The clothes ranged from a chic silk camisole ($98) to a black Lurex maxi dress with discreet pockets at the hip ($360) to hand-embroidered necklaces embellished with Indian beadwork ($175 to $195), which Feiner created to layer on top of the clean, classic clothing. “I wanted the line to appeal to confident, young New York women,” says Feiner. “These are transitional garments that you can wear to work but also casually on weekends and show a little skin.”
The beverage of the evening was port. Yes, we know it’s a bit unexpected, but our friends from Kobrand Corporation and the hotel’s staff of mixologists crafted exceptional cocktails like the Pink Diamond: Croft Pink over ice with lemon and soda—which were irresistible on the warm summer evening. Trays of mushroom and goat cheese crostini, shrimp skewers doused in light herbs and chili, and more came around from the hotel’s new chef, Jeff Seizer, while fashion-hungry buyers perused Feiner’s collection. There was a constant rotation from the racks to the dressing rooms, where women tried on clothing while overlooking the city, curtained off by shrubbery (design conceived by Natalie Trento Events). For the type of young New York businesswomen who frequent the terrace the looks were spot on.
