Take Your Dinner Party to Sea
Through October, grab 20 of your closest friends and charter a boat through Classic Harbor Line to have chef Masaharu Morimoto, of Morimoto restaurant, prepare a menu of seasonal sashimi and sushi for your private party at sea ($55 per guest).
The boat—either a schooner or a motor yacht—departs from Chelsea Piers for a private cruise along the Hudson River, on which guests enjoy sushi buffet-style, as a formal sit-down dinner, or as two plated courses. The meal is accompanied by sake pairings or an open sake bar ($13 per guest per hour).
The sushi sake sail aboard the schooner is also open to the public ($120 per person) on Monday nights at 6 pm for two-hour sunset sails to the Statue of Liberty and back. However, only private parties have the option to request chef Morimoto to serve their group himself.
