Louis Purple Made-to-Measure
Style: Traditional, well-made, affordable made-to-measure suits.
Clientele: Executives who want a well-made suit, save the bells and whistles.
This reputable French label opened its first and only U.S. store in New York City’s NoLita neighborhood in April. With more than 1,000 patterns, 300 fabrics, and 80 linings to choose from, Louis Purple provides quality, custom tailoring priced affordably from $700 to $1,000 for a suit.
Louis Purple represents traditionalists—the time-honored tailors that our fathers and grandfathers have trusted for years with their Sunday best. At the same time, store owner Charles Brunold offers his clients advice to help them express their individual style with garments such as the recently created black velvet paisley jacket with silk purple lining. The process begins with a client selecting his fabric, lining, buttons, stitching, and style. Then he is measured, and within three to four weeks the suit arrives from the company’s Romanian workshop for the final fitting in the store or in a customer’s home or office.
Louis Purple is offering a special deal for Robb Report readers: just mention this article, and receive either a 10 percent discount on your purchase or a complimentary shirt with the purchase of a made-to-measure suit.
